  1. Something to share with the group.

This occurred a number of years ago at the first xmas that I attended with my fiancé (now wife).

My wife's cousin turned to her mother and whispered in her ear... they both then both began staring
at my legs (freshly shaven as I had just taken my new xmas present for a ride that morning)... the
auntie then got up, walked over to my mother in law and whispered in her ear.... "ummmm.... we just
couldn't help but notice.... but your daughters fiancé shaves.... his legs!"

My mother in law said that she knew this and that I was a cyclist.

The auntie then gave a very confused look and followed up with "oh.... is he gay?"

My mother in law burst into laughter and proceeded to make a complete [censored] of them by pointing out
that it might be something they should point out to my soon to be wife!

I also got into a huge debate at the last family xmas thing when someone once again noticed my legs
and started asking if all cyclists were gay... when asked why he assumed this he said because we
shave our legs and ride around in tights... I then proceeded to point out to him that most, if not
all, of his beloved football team ran around in tights when they were training and that most of them
shaved parts of their bodies, to both assist in massage and also strapping.

Ahhhhh where would we be without the rednecks!

Still, bad form to show up at the Christmas table (or indeed any dinner table) in shorts. For that
alone they should have known you were not gay.

  6. Damn, with that title (True Story: Shaved Legs) I thought you were going to turn this forum into
    Penthouse Forum.

Ummm sorry can you point out where I mentioned a dinner table?

It was 35+ degrees C, an outdoor lunch in the middle of summer at our house and 3/4 of the guests
spent the day swimming in our pool... I think the shorts thing might JUST be a little more
    acceptable than you think.

Uhh, guys, in Australia, the seasons are opposite of what's in North America. So Christmas in the
Land Down Under is usually sweltering hot (summer), so I would think shorts would be acceptable.

Might want to add body builders to your list of shavers - they pretty much shave everywhere as far as I can tell.

  11. Everyone I hung out with as male freinds were also cyclists ..... they all shaved as well.

The people at school all knew I raced every weekend, and most of them were educated enough to know why I did it.

Others would just ask, and I would tell them, but none questioned whether I was gay ..........

Now that I'm getting back into it, I do not feel that I am worthy of shaving until I actually get out there and pack on the miles ....... I just can't justify it right now .....

Add to that in American Football the quarterback buries his hands in the crotch of the guy
    snapping the ball.

So all centers and quarterbacks are gay, right? 🙂

Let me help you understand. Europe is in the Northern Hemisphere so their seasons are in the same
months as North America. I have friends in Sydney. Their Christmas gatherings are held by the
swimming pool (under the heat of the sun, get it?). Would you wear a tuxedo? Oh yeah... 😉.
