I'm doing my first tri in the middle of may and I just bought a pair of
desoto tri shorts. They were having a sale about 3 weeks ago, and I got
them pretty cheap ($35).
So far, I've swam and biked in them with good results. Furthermore, I
found the Desoto sales people to be very good. They emailed me about
the wetsuit I also bought to be sure that it would fit.

Try sportsbasement.com. They have a close out sale on TYR shorts for around
$30. I have a few pairs of the TYR 5 inch shorts and think they're great.
