Transporting a Strada

You might want to look at Draftmaster hitch racks. None better, IMO.

The Draftmaster and SportsWorks hitch mounted racks are very nice and also expensive, specially if
you have to add a hitch to your car. Is there any reason why a trunk mounted rack would not work?
They usually cost between $50 and $100. You will have to carefully tie the bike down and may have to
add some padding to ensure it doesn't get scratched. I know its not the most secure way to haul a
bike but its probably the cheapest besides tieing it to the racks. Craig

If you have a 2" hitch the Hollywood Pro Rider is a nice and relativly inexpensive choice. It does
not require wheel removal and has sliding trays and a tricky little clamp that can adapt to many
bents. I will use mine to transport my AERO and a Beach Cruiser... 1100 miles this week. Most any
bike shop can get you one. I think they are < $299 and will carry two bikes and expand to 4. The
Team Rider also will work on a Strada and requires front wheel removal but is <$250.

I think you just need to tie an old rag around a suitable piece of the metalwork; the dog can then
grip this with its teeth and all will be well. At least, that'll work if the retriever in question
is as stupid as the one belonging to my sister...

Thanks for all the responses, I think I will look into the Hollywood Pro. My dog would probably
enjoy a ride on top of the van but I'm sure somebody would probably get into an accident watching
