The half-marathon training plan I'm going to follow has has this
schedule:
Monday: Strength training and extra stretching
Tuesday: Run
Wednesday: Cross training or short run
Thursday: Run and strength training
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Cross training
Sunday: Long run
I've decided that on Wednesday, I'll do the short run; I think that
would benefit me more than cross training because after all, I am
training to run. My question is in regards to the short run. It is a
two-mile run for the first six weeks, and a three-mile run for the next
six weeks. (At the six week point, the normal run is 4 miles and the
long run is six.)
The question is how I should do the short run. Should it be at the same
pace as the normal run? Should I try to run it faster? Should it be an
easy run at a slower pace?

Crossing the starting line is 90%.
Crossing the finish line is the other 90%.
