Please excuse my ignorance, I am still relatively new to all of this. My question. On many (most) of the training schedules I have come across, you will see something like 4x1:00 or 6x1:30. What does this mean? I hate to sound stupid but if the shoe fits.....

They mean, respectively, 4 repeats of 1 minute, and 6 repeats of one and a half minutes.

It means 4 turns ( or laps ) of 1 minute and 6 of 1,30 minute.
You run 4 times of 1 minute, and put a pause for ex. 30 sek in between.
