Training for Century with 12,000 feet climbing, but limited training time...

I was struggling with this for a year and half with percieved effort and now it is great to finally have numbers to look at. Keep an eye on ebay and maybe something will turn up. I seem like there are 2 or 3 PT's a week that start at a reasonable bid, but I don't have great ebay bidding skills (interpret - I get distracted easily and forget that I am watching a particular item).

I do believe for those who take training seriously (I don't compete, but I take it serious) it is a worthy tool.
I am looking out for one possibly on ebay but I also need a new groupset (I have 105's that are 4 years old and have been giving me a lot of problems the last year) so I think the PM's going to have to wait till the next pruchase cycle. ;)

While a PM might be great, there's no reason that you can't train well and get results without one. Dave has given you some great guidelines, and there is plenty of info on this forum and around the net on SST. Training itself will give you plenty of feedback of where you should be working, as will your HR/speedo/timer etc., not to mention PE.

FWIW, I ride with a variety of groups, and in plenty of events with LOTS of riders from beginners to elite, and I've yet to even see a PM in use ... and still plenty of those riders go very very fast!

Enjoy.

Hey, so when is this event (and where?)

Keep us posted!

The end of October in middle Massachusetts. However, I don't know now if I'll be able to do it as I got a knee injury (from running!) and it's keeping me off the bike right now.
