Build up to it, but make sure you can do 30miles before the 18th June.
As you say you are quite new to cycling, you will need to take plenty of rest so that you don't damage muscles.
So do a 10 mile ride a couple of times, then a 15, 20, 25, and 30. do them at your own pace. try and replicate the type of terrain you will be riding. It appears you have around about 1 month until the big day, so this will give you plenty of time to build up to it.
Whats the furthest you have ridden in one go so far?
What terrain is the cycle route? -
you know im not sure what the longest i have ridden is.. i usually go on rides with some friends of mine.. its about 3 miles to where we meet and then we cover about 16 miles... but its all going through alleys and stopping all the time.. say 4 hours for the whole ride, so i dont know how long a rid ei have ridden.. but there is a botanical gardens 24 miles north of here.. and the bike path is 15 miles long going south.. so if i go to the end of the bike path and back its 30 miles... i dunno.. you sure a month is long enough? i havent commited to this bike run.. but if i CAN do it, i want to ... im not sure the terrain..its from a cafe to a beach in minnesota.. so i dunno

As simple as this......ride.
If you're just doing a leisure ride, you don't need to worry about speed workouts, just putting mileage into your legs.
Try and ride at least 4 times a week, keeping a steady pace, for as long as you can go without dying. The next time, go little farther. In no time, you'll be up there doing 80 miles a day....heh

thanks.. i think i can do 4 times a week.. i know i want to start riding as long as i can on the weekends.. thats at least two and maybe a few before work.. i hope i make it.

When I was starting out I found that I could do at least twice my 'regular' ride without too much trouble. Back then, I was doing just 15 miles or so, about 3 times a week, but a 40 mile one day ride was fine. The key is just to keep riding and keep increasing your distance.
