What a day and what a race (Paris-Roubaix) for the Discovery Channel Team. A passing train made the difference between "something" and "nothing" for a hard-fought U.S. team. I mean what didn't happen to them in the fight over the cobble stones. Next time I hear someone whinn about rough roads on a club ride I'm going to hand them a video of yesterday's race. Hats off to the Discovery Channel Team for a win in my book - despite the train and the broken steering tube (fork). kas

USA USA USA! You do realise not one American finished the race. Are you seriously trying to say USA had some kind of victory in Paris-Roubaix? In what competition- Least reliable forks: The winner is TREK! and team disco.

Speaking for myself, no... I just enjoyed the heck out of the race. It was awesome, smartly ridden and inspiring. I loved watching the break away group wear down Boonen like hyenas on a zebra. 😄 And how else can he be beaten? And George's crash was a heart stopper. All the best to him. In short, I thought the P-R had everything a race could have. Congradulations to all the winners and finishers. -

Yes, I realized that no Discovery Channel team members won. What I was trying to say was that they deserved a lot of credit for being tough in that race. They were down several times and came back to lead the pack and push the pace. It could have been - easily - a whole different story if certain circumstances didn't come to be. Anyway, on to the next challenge.

Didn't any of the other cyclists (outside Disco) ride the race? Wasn't it a tough race for everyone?
Anyone in a race like PR is an outstanding cyclist. The discos had a good race but there were other cyclists (and teams) that were better - by a fair way.
The train didn't affect first place. No one remembers anyone but first.
