I will be in Indianapolis in early September (3-6), staying at the Sheraton at Keystone Crossing. I'll be bringing my Tour Easy. Can anyone give me any help locating a nearby trail or directions on getting to one? I checked out the web site, but the maps are not ideal. It looks like I'm close to the Monon trail. Is that right?

Monon Trail is about 2 3/4 west of that hotel. Town & Hazel Dell trails on the link Mark gave are accessible about 1 1/2 northeast off of 96th St., much closer as the crow flies. Town trail may (built since I moved away) be accessible much closer via River Road at the east side of Keystone Crossing.

And don't forget that trail-side in Carmel to the north of town, is Valley Bikes. If you have any questions about riding in the greater Indianapolis area, just give Mike McDowell a holler!

The new 2004 [paper] Indy bike map is free at local bike shops and the Indy Parks Greenways office (in the train depot on the Monon Trail & 64th St).
Make sure you go to Shapiro's Deli while you're in town. There are two, one downtown and one on the north side.
I don't know if it is still there because I haven't been down in a while, but there used to be a place called "Pastor Brown's Ribs" on 38th St. and the Monon Trail (they're on the west side of the trail, the fairgrounds are on the east side). The ribs were out of this world. Good homecooked side dishes like macaroni and cheese and baked beans and good pies and cakes too. The story behind the place is a church used to sell ribs as a fundraiser. They were so popular they decided to open a restaurant and employ church personnel to staff it.
Give me a E-Mail if you would like to go fo a bike ride on monday (I have to work the weekend) if you go to the monon trail you will go right by my house, also please let me know what kind of riding you would like to do there is a recmbent shop on the monon at about 138 st
