Track Pedals

Would you beleive the SPD-R Ultegra pedals are actually dearer than the SPD-S Ultegras.Go figure??? PS when u gonna get a skinsuit for a trade?

Team didn;t get skinsuits this year. Not enough of the guys wanted them to meet the minimums

I think the SPD-S would be more expensive because it is the newer model. I still think that the SPD-R was the better design all around

With the track lock on? its bloody near imposible, after a hard race I have had to have people assist me out of mine! I have pulled my foot from a standerd Keywin with no track lock but my cleates where nearly shagged so I didnt blame the pedal.

Max Rainsford said he did his SPDs up very tight for a criterium, and actually busted the cleat during the race!!

But then agian, I'd say he's stronger than most of US

I use Keywin on the road bike with float and another pair with no float and track pins on the track bike. Same shoes, same cleats. They are great to ride on and very secure.

I'm naturally a sprinter and know how to pull a foot out of a pedal but haven't been able to do it with the Keywin track pins in place. They even stay in when you somersault all the way down the bank at speed.

The thing about all clipless systems is to look after your cleats. Don't walk around in your shoes, not only does it wear out your cleats but can cause fatigue and cracking, particularly with look-type cleats. I have seen these actually break... with disastrous results.

Anyone using Time pedals on the track? I'm coming from the road and so want to keep my pedal systems synched and am now using Look on the road but heard that Time would be better. I don't want to do shimano or speedplay. Any thoughts? Time RX vs Time Impact? Thanks. #

I actually did a stupid thing when i pulled my foot,i put my shoe/cleat into the pedal when the lock was actually on.Thus the stack nearly resulting in a squashed $@rote
