This morning I had a walk around Devoke Water; I had intended to go
further into Eskdale but the sun was shining on Birker Fell and it
looked a bit ominous over Eskdale, so this walk looked a better bet.
There was a cold, biting wind and a few snow flurries coupled with some
great views of the high fells (when the clouds cleared) which have a
sprinkling of snow on the tops. Photo's are posted:

New - (Marilyns 10 (2 CT's), Sweats 1, Wainwrights 3, Outlying Fells 0)
Repeats - 0 (Marilyns 0, Sweats 0, Wainwrights 0, Outlying Fells 0)
....still none down here. Coniston, Scafells etc still only have a
sprinkling.

I've often noticed that. Helvellyn certainly does seem to get all the snow.
I'm surprised the Scafells aren't covered more, too, there's usually snow
lower down them than on Skiddaw.

I like the views along that road - even more when it's snowed. Going
west, first the big ones on your right, then the cracking approach to
Keswick with all those goodies beyond, stacking up to the skyline.
Driving back on Saturday I had to resist the constant urge to turn my
head back and away from the traffic. Despite the frustrations, I get
my kicks on Route 66!

Agreed!
I also failed to mention that the two minnows; Great Mell Fell & Little
Mell Fell also looked to have more than a dusting.....
