Hardly no MacMidges at all. Breezy wind.

On Saturday - blazing hot on morning and early afternoon <SHOCK> we spend
nearly 40 minutes at the top of the first Marilyn, it was so lovely. Cool
wind late afternoon. Typical expedition route ;-))

Sunday, Phil left early, a few cleggs (got bitten twice) - very humid,
Roger left after the first Marilyn, then me a Martin did a second one - very
hot and sunny.

I eventually couldn't be bothered to do a third one by the time I arrived
there, so went home.

I left to do a quick Marilyn on the way home. (Only 90 minutes Jhimmy
said). The top was in cloud and the condensation from the clag was so
great that it was still dripping from the peak of my cap when I arrived
back at my car some time later than intended due to big toe damage on
the steep descent.

Oh yes, did a couple of Marilyns on Friday after the drive up.

The tops were apparently devoid of other walkers on all 3 days. The only
others we saw off road were a mute couple with a distressed infant when
we crossed the Captains Road at its highest point.

I've got logs to update, concerned emails about my involvement in the
bombs to reply to, newsgroups to read, TDF to watch, a new toy to play
with (Epson P-2000) and I have to be up at crack of sparrows for work
tomorrow. :-\

One liners posted from my parents' place on the way back to home will
have to do.

Apart from me and Martin's last Marilyn, no other hill I did had a path on
it, apart from the odd farmers quad bike.

Great weekend, no other walkers, no paths, no midges, no rain, no
GOMLS...er, also no showers, no drinking water... ;-)

Is this the sort of area that I could "lose myself" (deliberately) in
for a few days wild camping?

I've got the old wanderlust (as I'm on the verge of having my
temporary job made permanent and should have loads of extra days
holidays soon, fingers crossed) and am looking for somewhere to go.
