I had a trip up to Ullswater today and had a round of Fusedale, up onto the High Street ridge. It was a mixed bag of weather really, being warm but generally dull and hazy with the odd sunny spell and shower to boot! A nice day out, still quiet up there. Photo's are posted:

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a bit and I can only say that this is a wonderful NG! I drove past Ullswater today and looked at Hallin Fell and thought "that would make a good start to a walk".... I think I know what I'll be doing at the week-end!
Cheers all, MalJ

In the end I missed out Hallin Fell and went from Askham to the Cockpit (in fine drizzle...) then followed the Roman Road to Loadpot Hill... top in mist....then took the path to Arthurs Pike and then back to Askham... by this time in sunshine... The 2mile trek from Askham before you reach the hills is a bit of a drawback .....

Hi Mal,
At least you got out and up on to Wether Hill and it ended up being sunny. I've not been that way before, the walk from Askham does seem a bit far out.

Hi, Didn't get as far as Wether Hill... Turned back at Loadpot Hill ...Mist a bit thick... Though I did get a glimpse of the top mentioned Hallin Fell! The dog (lab/collie cross) was fed up as well... Cheers, MalJ -- Real e-mail: malcolm_r_jones (_at_) tiscali(dot)co(dot)uk
