Quoted message said:I am looking to buy a carrier to carry 2 bikes - that will attach to my tow
bar.
I would prefer something that would fit to a plate that was left on the
tow bar - and also something that was compact for storage.
I have see one made by Maxxraxx - that would seem to fit the bill - the
BI-RAXX - that looks compact, and has kind of ratchet system to tie down
the bikes. Wondered - anyone had experience of this - or maybe something
else they've used/ really liked?
Hello,
I have a Pendle 4 bike rack...

Fitted to a so called type approved mounting...

Purchased it from...

The car can take 50kg of which 9kg is the rack. I have only taken 3 bikes so
far. The upright bars are moved nearly horizontally for storage, which makes
it thinner! The beauty of the TA mounting is that if you leave the boot up
when you have attached the bikes, there is still a possibility of lifting
the rack back off again without having to take the bikes off. I did need
help though (obviously). It came with a light rack so you will need at least
single electrics fitted. The only grumble I have is the variable fit of the
runners where the bike wheels go. It is adjustable, sometimes with the aid
of a mallet. I used Vaseline on them to make the process easier.
Cheers
Peter.
