A very good campsite in Breskens, which is a (or at least was in 96
and 97) free ferry ride from Vlissingen, from there all of Zeeland
beckons. Lots of Youth Hostels in the area, we used the one in
Westhove which is a castle with a moat. Ghent and Brugge are sort of
en route. On Zeeland Veere and Zeirikzee recommended. The Falk Plan
50,000 map is very good for cycle routes and general stuff, hope you
like mussles and beer!
Enjoy ;-)

Not any more. It is exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists now
(because of the new tunnel under the Westerschelde) but payed. One way
one person + bike: E 3.05, every half hour from about 6am - 7pm then
every hour until 10.

Yes just found this;
The ferry Kruiningen-Perkpolder has been discontinued.
interesting that although they have a bus service they also operate
the boat/foot ferry

Well the ferry is a much more convenient connection between Vlissingen
and Breskens. See

Of course! I had assumed the tunnel went under the Breskens ferry
route. Fond memories of two trips there; hot dogs and beer on the
boat, the wind! the unfinished church towers, the endless ride back to
Oostende. Must go back.
