Anyone interested enough to go out on a limb and make a prediction or predictions.
There are several strong riders in this race and with all the shake ups as of late it is difficult to tell who is going to make a run for this one or save the legs and wait for the big show next month.
I suspect Kloden has his sights on the TDF but team mate Kessler is a good GC type and might try for his first big win. He is a good climber and not bad in TT's.

How about Stage 7, a real beauty! Three big passes, this stage should decide the winner.
Lots of contenders....I will go with Vladimir Karpets or Frank Schleck. Both (to my knowledge) reasonable climbers, good GC riders and not team leaders at the TDF hence will want to compete well in this race.
Wonder how the Giro riders might go - Simoni, Cunego etc? No arguments about their climbing ability!

Well.... maybe Klöden.... Thomas Dekker will hold back... Simoni will try to win the queen stage on friday....Sastre will hold back as well...Ok... my tip is Brajkovic!

No... he's not riding and is suffering from the same illness again..... he may not ride again unless they (the doctors) can find a way for him to overcome his sickness....

Did he start and then drop out? I read this quote from Cancellera on cyclingnews today, about yesterday's stage: "I noticed on the Rengg that Damiano Cunego was positioned in the front and so perhaps tomorrow he will try something."

He rode at the front on the final climb but never attacked. It was too fast anyway to make a difference, probably close to 30 guys were more or less together at the top including Cancellara.I think it was Kirchen who tried a dig near the top and Cunego was one of the guys who immediately went with him.

Cuengo will not be riding the Tour as originally planned as his "illness" is getting worse with fatigue.... he and his doctors are trying to work out what the best course of action for his career... ie stop now and solve the problem or reduce the workload...

What are you talking about?
At the beginning of the season, while he was still working in the USA on his TTing position, it was announced he will not ride 2007 Tour, 'cause of numerous reasons... After hard Giro it would be too demanding to do the Tour too, to strong competition concentrating just on the Tour etc. etc.
But in the same interview he said TDF will be his big goal in 2008.
So, this is the first time I'm hearing about some illness. Non Tour schedule was planed long time ago. -

But will Simoni do the tour this year or skip it for the Vuelta to keep sponsors happy?
