If it was a virus, the sirens on your virus scanner would have gone off. You *DO* run a virus
scanner and firewall, don't you?

It's a dialler program. It ASKED for permission to be downloaded, and (once I'd allowed it to)
neither Spybot nor Ad-Aware picked it up as a trojan. If it was a virus, Norton would have stopped
it long before I ran either of these programs.

The function of the program appeared perfectly clear to me; accept the (several) layers of warnings,
and it will dial up a premium rate number for you (1.50 GBP per minute, maximum call time 13 minutes
- i.e., 19.50 GBP ). I don't know what it connects you up TO, but it does warn you that you need to
be over 18.

Removing it....When I installed it, it placed an icon in my system tray. I right-clicked on this
icon, and selected the 'Remove' option. And it removed the software.

Regardless of the morality of this sort of software, I can't say that they were out to fool anyone
or hide the fact that they charge so much for connection - the title-bar of *every* window mentions
1.50 GBP/min.

I'm not downloading that. I love the javascript that opens your CD door ... but never run a .exe
file off a website like that ... No explanation what it is meant to do ...

Comments elsewhere in the thread indicate what it is - a premium rate dialer to extract money via
telephone calls.

The website about isn't likely to be the official tour site.

i read something about this in either cycling weekly or cycling plus recently... in any case they
reckon www.tourdefrance.com is a front for a [censored] site - just check the banner adds at the top...
