  1. OK: The Tour ended last week when anemic Ras was asked to go home.

    What we witnessed:

    1) ubiquitous doping
    2) confirmed cow blood interest
    3) stupid fast speed averages
    4) stupid fast climbing pacing
    5) a rigged GC (Vino out, Levi in, Ras out, Contador in, Basso out, Riis in)
    6) lying of the highest order by TV media (Liggett, Sherwin, Roche, Duffield)
    7) Laughing stock sport of all non-athlete coach potatoes

TV cycling is a joke. Agree or not? Discuss.

  2. i dont think it is a joke. i love the tour, but hate the backroom shenanigans

as i have said before, le tour is a grand metaphor of life.

Is is a Commerical Opera then?

I say televised germ warfare. Comedy, corruption, fraud and tragedy and wasted Gladiators.

In bike racing, we waste athletes every week:

Pantani (last man to win a TDF not named Lance) dead at age 34
    Jimenez (dead at age 32)
    Zanoli (dead at 37)
    Claverolat (dead at age 41)
    Zanetti (dead at age 32)
    Vermaut (dead at 28)
    Sermon (dead at 21)
    Zinoviev (dead at 43)
    Pauwels (dead at 22)
    Meijer (dead at 25)
    Carril (dead at 37)
    Meyer (dead at 32)
    Walle (dead at 24)
    Oosterbosch (dead at 32)
    Halupczok (dead at 27)
    Haghedooren (dead at 38)

Um, when have we not been discussing this?

Pantani--heard of him. We all have

Never heard of any of the others. Then again--when a European cyclist dies young, it gets no press over here and I have better things to do than read cyclingnews all the time...except in July.

    forgot to list Tom Simpson

and every week? that's only 17 weeks if you include Simpson

may God have mercy on their souls an' that....

discuss this: TV cycling is a joke in that here in the US and A we don't get enough of it.

  11. There are dozens more. Every 45 days another one dies. Other cue up.

  12. Tour Analysis.
Since the start of this years TDF Dr.H has made over 450 posts all doping related. (not that he makes any other kind)
    A new record??
    must surely be artificially assisted.

So Dr.H a simple Yes/No question. (not that you can or will answer it properly)
Do you like cycle racing Yes or No?

I love rooting for corporate branded laundry fueled with Polypharmacy.

Doesn't everyone? Especially the lies exposed in Liggett, Vino, Contador, Pharmstrong, Landis, McQuaid and David Millar.

btw: I have many non-pharma posts but I did NAIL down the 2007 TDF did I not Trevy?

After submitting D. House posts to a profiler..........

White male, mid to later 30's.

If he drives an automobile, the vehicle will be a small high mileage car with worn tires. Interior will be an absolute mess.

High probability that the individual consumes soft drinks excessively.

    Is not married.

Has a job that does not require much thought or discourse. Employment is spotty, cannot hold a job.

Dental hygiene will usually be deplorable, will not brush teeth on any regular basis.

Will have certain phobias, more than likely "germs", but his living conditions will be horrible.

Will have a lot of condiments, sauces and spices etc.

Feels that the world should take him very seriously, as he alone has things "figured out". Large institutions "fear" his knowledge.

May have bouts with mental illness, might actually be on medication. If medicated however, will not take medication as prescribed.

Not self sufficient, outside sources help support the individual.

This were just some comments that she made, the condiments one was odd......

I believe that profile is right on.

Cycling is not a joke but doctor house is.

  16. So what are the CSC, TMobile and Caisse D'Epargne going to do now? Go back on the full doping regimen that Disco never left?

Imagine how [censored] you would be if you had so scale back the doping because of the media heat and then you get beaten by a team that didn't and repeats ad nauseum stupidities such as 'we train harder',.... 'lance was here to calm the boys down'

And how [censored] must Basso be on this one? If only he had been Spanish, it would be him on the top step.

  17. Another year with an asterisk.

The Rasmussen affair puts a tarnish on Contador's victory, and we still don't have a winner for 2006.
