  2. 237 Km for a bunch of Freds... hmm. Probably an hour less, unless some
    rascal takes a flier.

No, you prediction was candyass. You said "an hour less" and you should
have stopped there. But then you couldn't resist adding the caveat
    "...unless some rascal..."

Both happened, rendering your prediction void.

(Not as bad as mine...I meant to say FIFTY guys in the front group, not
    fifTEEN. Honest.)

My personal definition of 'rascal' would be one of the GC hopes.
Virenque isn't in that league anymore as last year made pretty plain. I
wouldn't have said Fifteen, it's not that ugly a stage even if it's
long. You'd see the tiny peloton on the long jagged stages where the
autobus forms at the starting line.

deltaT is the time difference between the Tour stage and L'etape du Tour
    times.

R is a Boolean, if R is true, then R is a rascal, otherwise he isn't

F is also a Boolean, if true, then a break went, otherwise it didn't

Now, deltaT (actual) was -56 minutes; deltaT (predicted) was -60 minutes

    BUT

    deltaT (predicted) was conditional
    = -60 if not (R and F)
    = ? otherwise

Now if Virenque is a rascal, then R is true, but from the above, you say
you define it to be false. F is true, therefor by your definition, R
and F is false and not (R and F) is true. Therefore your prediction of
deltaT is -60 minutes, when the actual was -56.

So it is better for you, you see, to assert that Virenque is a rascal,
then deltaT (predicted) would be some other value.

And I can turn round and say that the group all together on 5:19 down
    was 14 men strong :-))

Do they have dope tests for Freds?

(p.s. those guys are probably amateur racers, right?)

Thanks. For some reason, doping to "win" a cyclotourist event
seems even more pathetic than doping to win an amateur race
(let alone a professional race). Don't ask me to justify this
ranking of pathos, but there it is.

Maybe doping will become as common as Trek 5500 bikes on U.S.
cyclotourist century rides (which usually aren't timed) ...

    Ben
Needs to start doping for training rides
