You can suggest it but it's eclipsed by Queen's 'I'm In love With my Car'

I'm in love with my car
    Gotta feel for my automobile
Get a grip on my boy racer rollbar
Such a thrill when your radials squeal

I think the idea is to annoy the woolly-haired w*nker rather than actually
choose a song that has a 'car' theme.

Anything which annoys the woolly-haired w*nker is fine by me :-)

Spot on.. Especially after he wanders across the road in Oxford without
looking and complains about nearly being mown down by a bike.. Nice
shot of a kid on a trialerbike in Oxford though.

I knew this would come up.
    It was tongue in cheek.
I have this suspicion that he did it deliberately to provoke
a reponse in groups like this.
Let's have a sense of humour here.

I think a lot of what Clarkson says and writes is done purely to provoke a
reaction and I imagine he gets a lot of amusement from the responses.
I think some of the folk on this NG could do with lightening up a bit, a few
weeks on a traditional factory floor with various characters humour ranging
from the ultra dry to the slap-stick might be good.
Does riding a lot on their own make them insular or do they ride on their
    own a lot because they're insular? ;-)

I'm sure he does, but it still doesn't change the fact he's a petrol-headed,
woolly-haired [censored], who appeals to the worst of brain-dead boy-racers who
like to view the road as their personal race-tracks and are the kind who end
    up abusing other road users.

Slap-stick is fun. Clarkson is a [censored].

And if you think the pachydermic Clarkson will be rattled then the
collective wit displayed here is bettered by Clarkson. I'm quite fond of his
wind ups. Am I alone in not being wound up by his capers?

Nice song and all, but it doesn't have the universal appeal of Daisy Bell (A
Bicycle Built for Two). There are countless recordings, mostly simplified ones
of the chorus alone, but I like Blur's version of the entire song, as well as
the dying words of HAL 9000.

I wouldn't say 'wind-up' it's just he has a single style and that style is
the one which appeals the worst boy-racer mentality. He is *boring* and a
lout. Nothing more than a posh chav.

Respectfully, I would rather cycling was banned and my gonads were removed
by a farm labourer with a blunt spoon than condone anything /ever/ produced
    by queen.

I was reading a legal case from early in the last century in which
someone was arrested for being drunk pushing a bicycle. In the appeal
Daisy was cited by his Counsel as evidence from common use that a
bicycle was distinct from a carriage and that therefore his client could
not have been drunk in charge of a carriage. He lost but I thought it
wonderful that the popular song was being argued as legal precedent

I know this ain't cycling related but I'm going for Guns 'n' Roses, "Sweet
Child of Mine". Well, I can't cycle all the time........and there ain't
nowt like it when the sun is out, the window is down, and the volume is
    up........

Oh, and I like Mr Clarkson. Sorry. He is what he is, he makes no apology
for it, (which I'd rather have then the usual load of sycophantic, phoney
rubbish), and hey, you don't have to watch.......

    krys
    backing away at speed........

It is a wind-up in the same way as he claims all motorcyclists are gay
and have a leather fetish. Don't let him get you riled, it's exactly the
    response he wants.

I think he's an OK TV presenter when he stays off the subject of cars.
TG is very irreposnsible TV though.

There was another one called something like "Clarkson's Awesome Weapons" or
similar where he got to play with various bits of military machinery. In one
episode, he participated in a close-assualt exercise with some soldiers.
They made the lardy oaf run around a house for ages, weighed down with a
machine gun and a big rucksack, while they threw fake grenades at him. He
looked like he was about to die of ephysema after a couple of minutes.
    Brilliant...
