  1. I'm on a "no sugar, no starches" diet.
    No noodles..... no bread !

I've also got a stash of TUNA. ( foil packets )

After lots of web searching it seems there
    are only TWO ways to prepare Tuna;
    Tuna-Noodle something
    or Tuna Glop for sammiches.

Surely, there must be a third ( or fourth ) way
    to prepare Tuna......

    Anyone have a tuna-suggetsion ?

How about a Tuna salad salad? Or a tuna salad tomato? Or tuna
    salad wrapped in lettuce?

  3. I've had pasta sauces with tuna, anchovies, tomatoes, and olives; also
pasta topped with tuna, lemon, artichooke hearts, and sun-dried
tomatoes. You could sub spaghetti squash for the pasta.

Also, tuna is awesome on a salad nicoise, even the pouch kind. Make a
green salad, add steamed green beans, potaotes, black olives or nicoise
if you can find them, and quartered hard-boiled egg; dress with a
    vinaigrette.

Or you can marinate it in a lemony-herb dressing briefly and use it on
a greek salad, with bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese ,
    kalamata olives, and red onions.

I presume you woudl be willing to have uncanned tuna, too? Such as tuna
steak? It can be freid and combined with vegs.

You can use the tuna in any recipe where cooked flaked fish is needed.

Search for "salade nicoise" or "Nicoise salad" but leave out the
potatoes when you make it. And if you can get to a Sprouts market,
try their house brand canned tuna. It's really good.

    Tuna Shake Baybee!!!

    http://www.deepsquatter.com/shake.htm

Cute website, and some of the recipes are actually edible. ;-)

I like to make lettuce wraps with it personally.
I'll even mix it with picante sauce instead of mayo.

or..rainbow trout with a herbed butter

then there's like tons of ways to eat heartily and still avoid sugar
    and starch

    fruit
    dairy
    grains and grain breads
    green leafy veggies

can you have natural sugar or just not refined sugar

    good luck!

I despise canned tuna but perhaps RJ could use it to make tuna patties (like
salmon patties). But I'm not sure what binder could be used. Still, the
best crab-cakes are normally mostly crab, fewer bread crumbs. Just a
    thought.

Meat and green veggies primarily, but that still leaves plenty of food
    to choose from. :-)

All animal flesh, eggs, limited amounts of dairy (cheese/cottage cheese
is better), cucumbers, pickles, endive, spinach, green beans, olives (in
limited amounts), nuts (in limited amounts), black soy beans, Shiratake
noodles, artichokes, lettuce, peppers of all kinds, sprouts of all
kinds, Mushrooms of all kinds, Asparagus, chard, and lower sugar berries
such as strawberries, blueberries, black and raspberries but again in
limited quantities, and a few other items. Just get a good starch carb
    counter. Be adventurous and creative!

My mother occasionally buys something called Coronation Tuna, which is like
Coronation Chicken - i.e. a yellow sauce made from curry powder. Eww.

(To the OP - you can make a reasonable tuna fishcake by binding the mashed
tuna with a little tomato puree, and adding a little onion salt and black
pepper. If you form it into cakes, *chill them well* and then oven-bake in a
lightly-oiled tray rather than trying to flip them around in a frying-pan,
it's quite successful. Tuna, prawns and cream cheese as a "filling" for
celery sticks is quite nice. I can't think of anything else that doesn't
involve some kind of starch *somewhere*, sorry 🙁

    Ooh yah! :-)
Believe it or not, well drained tuna goes will with a Mexican flair!
I've mixed it with picante sauce, added just a little chili powder, and
stuffed it into taco shells with a little cheese, lettuce and tomato.

    Tuna tacos!

And yes, I knew it was an odd, but entertaining and intriguing website.
    ;-) That's why I posted it.

I'm glad you found it as amusing as I did!

I'm not surprised. Sounds like you're going to starve yourself to death,
what does your body do for energy without carbohydrates? Have you had
    medical advice about this diet?

    Christine

Your body is perfectly capable of making glucose out of proteins...
It's called "Gluconeogenesis" and it's done in the liver.

There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate. ;-)

    Cheers!
