    Hi,

    I would like to know if it's OK to apply grease on an aluminium seatpost
    that is put into a frame with carbon seatstays.

    In theory, the grease could get into the small holes inside the seattube and
    get on the inside of the carbon seatstays.

    Is it OK to apply a small amount of grease?

    I'm not sure I see what the potential problem is.
    I don't know of a way that grease can damage the
    carbon fiber or binding resins. Stay away
    from methylene chloride though!

    Avoid lithium grease and it shouldn't be a problem. Lithium grease
    attacks many resins.

    If unsure about what grease is safe, consult the frame's maker.

    Not sure does it make you feel better but I greased mine (my own
    ride). An Easton AL Wilier with carbon seatstays, Shimano DA seatpost
    and axle grease. No slips and no noise.
