Michelin Hot S and not just because they are red but that is a big factor. Had they been green I
would also put them on my car.

On my singlespeed I still have the tires it came with which are Bontrager Jones ACs. They surprised
me with how well they tracked in the corners for just being 2.1s, but I will not reccomend them
based solely on size (so women do really care about size, eh?).

On my FS I have some Intense System 4's which I love. They are labeled as
2.25 but seem a lot bigger (they looked bigger than a friend's 2.3's when side by side). They corner
well and have plenty of volume. They are also very light for a tire of that size. I'll probably
get some for the SS when it's due for new rubber.

Do you run a bigger size upfront than in back? I wonder if going up a few points in front would ease
the sliding.

I'm surprised to hear you're having trouble with the Mutanoraptors. It must be the difference in
terrain. I just switched to these and find that in loose granite/sand I've never ridden anything
that corners/grips as well.

I've got the set of Jap 2.25 IRC Mythos on the ss for the dry, high desert conditions here. But I've
seen the 2.4 moto-raptors on a couple SS's, and they tend to be popular here, but I have it on good
authority, they suck when it's wet.

I noticed a big improvement going to the 2.4 M/R on the front of my red bike, and I can lean it into
anything and it holds like glue on rails. But that might just be a good marriage betw that tire and
our particular terrain.

Mutanoraptors are a joke. If it's dry, Motoraptors are really good. Maybe a Continental Vertical Pro
would be better for a pixie in your neck of the woods though.

The jury is out on these tires fr me as well... I do see what Carla means about the 2.4 Mutanoraptors... Oddly Our buddy has a pair of 2.3 Mutanoraptors that have high side knobs.

continental vertical pro-tection. Not good for thick mud and low speeds. needs high speed to
shed the mud. watch out for the flying gobs. good everywhere else. great on rocks and roots with
loamy soil.

Have you tried 2.3 Continental Vertical Pros? They seem to hook up really well in most conditions
for me, especially good in snow. They have plenty of air volume and they are very supple (cushy ride
for rigid SS use). Nice big side knobs too. They are a bit spendy though.

I got pretty good cornering traction out of my mutanos though, I'm surprised you're having trouble
with them. What type of pressure do you run? At 185lbs, I would usually run them around 35lbs and I
never pinch flatted.

I am running them between 20-25lbs of pressure. They still don't work for me.

I know you said nothing smaller than 2.3 but for the east coast trails I ride here I really, really,
like the 2.1 IRC Mythos redwalls. You can run very low pressure in them and they corner like mad. It
doesn't look like they have side knobs. I have an old pair of them (there's still a little life left
in 'em) that I can send you to try if you want. E-mail me your info if you want 'em.

I am not too impressed with the cornering of the Mutanos either. I now have them on both bikes.

As Paladin stated our conditions are usually dry/loose out here, so it's quite a bit different than
what you're talking about, but I seem to have the same results.

I like the volume, the very low rolling resisitance, and the light weight, but the grip isn't
that great.

The best cornering tire I've used out here was the Maxxis Mobster. I could lean into just about
anything and those babys would hang in. And the
2.1s were almost as big as my 2.4 Mutanos. The Mobsters are quite heavy tho...
