I have come across some people who complain of tingling in soles .
Is it common when they cross 6o / is it an advance indication of some
forthcoming health problem ?

It is the phonominum called neuropathy. Doctors have remedies for it,
but it is a circulation problem connected with diabetes. It is not to
be taken lightly, but it is a fact of diabetes.

Very good info Simm , does it develop during pre-diabetic
period ? What are the consequences if allowed to continue despite
controlled diabetes with medication ?

It is generally a sign of fairly advanced diabetes type 2.

For many folks, including me, it responds very well to low carbing and,
especially, supplementation with alpha lipoic acid, 600-1200 mg per day.

It can.

Sorry to scare you, but worst case? Amputation.
How tightly are you controlling your numbers? Are you staying in the
normal range (<140 at 1 hour post-prandial, <120 at 2 hours PP, <100
fasting)? Are you taking alpha lipoic acid for the neuropathy?
Priscilla
I get tingling in my feet too. My sugar is normal but I have a water
retention problem due to congenital heart problems.
The tingling is in the entire foot when they are swollen, not just the
sole.
I am in my mid-40s.
Is this neuropathy as well?
Is it also a sign that something is very wrong.
It subsides when the swelling subsides, or rather, it seems to be worst
when the swelling is subsiding.

So much for natural hygiene, huh?
I don't know if yours is neuropathy. The cause of your swelling or
tingling could be a number of things, among them thyroid dysregulation,
heart failure, diabetes, infectious disease, arthritis, and other stuff
I haven't thought of or heard of.
Eating low carb is very helpful for swelling, since it lowers stored
fluids; just drink plenty of water.

..
My tingling in feet started when I was diagnosed with
mild diabetes , my doctor wouldnot prescibe any medication and
told me to stick on to diet and excercise . It didnot improve and
my hypertension also was very erratic , earlier it used to be very
stable .
I am on Metformin 500 twice daily and my
diabetes is well under control but my blood pressures do vary
and the tingling in feet goes on day and night non-stop .
Neuro or not my point is whether Alpha Lipoic Acid has any
good effect in general . Can I try on my own without asking
my doctor . What are it's side effects ? I am 60 plus , a senior .

Susan,
You do want to be taken a bit seriously. Do you not? You sounded like
a complete idiot in the above post.
First, Natural Hygiene cannot cure a congenitally deformed heart. It
does not claim to. It does ameliorate some of the symptoms of having a
congenital heart condition.
My suggestion to you is: if you do not know the answer to a question as
serious as this one then STFU.

I've been diabetic 35 years and don't have that. I *do* have occasional
achiness in my ankle that I broke years ago, and some itchiness of the scar.
But yeah, it's a potential sign of neural damage due to high blood sugars
and who knows what else. Talk to your doctor!!!!

Truthfully, I don't care how you "take" me.

In your opinion.

I doubt that, I really do.

Not just diabetes, neuropathy can be casued by diabetes but
by no means the only reason.

Perhaps, if you were to concentrate?
You have my condolences. 🙂
Susan,
I shared your response with my husband, the most positive and
understanding person I know.
His response to what you wrote was: "Sickness"
I agree. You are *very* ill if you are spewing diarrhea from your
mouth.
Spiritual/Moral reverse peristalsis is a very serious condition. I'd be
most concerned if I were you. It's a sign far worse than tingling in
the feet.
VP
Susan,
I don't take you at all. I keep away from verbiage such as you have
strewn as I would from dog vomit that was out in the sun for a couple
of hours.
You were absolutely disgusting and irrational.
You got "Healthy's" endorsement and support on that post. What else
need be said.
Take my advice to STFU. You'll get a lot less negative feedback and
make a real contribution to cleaning up pollution on the planet.

I just love cat fights!
The question waiting to be answered by you Dim-Wit is how come Natural
Hygience did NOT prevent tingling in your toes?
Just thought that you might want to know. We are all waiting with
bated breath. 🙂
