Time vs. Look pedals?

I have only used the Look pedal since 1989, so I have nothing to compare it to. I would point out that I like the fact that my foot position is fairly restricted-I have some rotation with the red cleats, but the pedal tends to keep my feet in the right position. I would also point our that Look cleats can commonly be found on sale for $10 wherease SPD's will run you $25. This adds up as I go through a set of cleats every 12-18 months.

I have Looks but I think time are better because they have stronger cleats and wont pull out as easy.

Get the new SPD-SL - these pedals blow Look and every other pedal out of the water. The wide platform makes them extremely comfortable, low profile gives better cornering clearance, weight compares favorably to all but Speedplay, and hinge mechanism makes unintended release impossible. MAN, U GOTTA GET THESE PEDALS - U WILL NOT BE SORRY!

I also have only used LOOK pedals and just purchased the LOOK 357's and there great!

i have used both at different times for many years. I have found the look pedals prefferable as they give a more reliable ride. i think time are a better concept, but i always found the lateral movement too 'foaty' and this could lead to pull out more often,

look take a bit more timne to get a good pos, u should adjust them even with red cleats but they are simpler and more solid

I ride Looks. I tried Time and they are just too hard to clip into. The bad thing about Looks is that after your cleats wear, the pedal interface where it touches the cleat starts to squeak when you push down on the pedal. It is VERY annoying! You can squirt oil on your cleats and the squeak goes away for about 1 or 2 rides. And the oil makes it feel like your feet are floating over an ice rink. I don't like that feeling.

If Times weren't so damn hard to clip into... Or if Looks didn't squeak soooo much.

I have only used LOOK pedals and have been extremely happy!

First pair were the 136's many years ago and recently upgraded to the 357's. Very happy with both!

I use Looks, the 396...works great, simple design, nothing goes wrong...😎

I have used Time for years. I don't have any problems getting into them. Float is not an issue it is not like I move around much once pedaling. I have never ever pulled out and I have been using them for about eight years. I have them on all my bikes. I glad to see SPD finally have a large platform time has had this since I originally got them.
