I'm not all that surprised that he came back to this continent where Lyne is.
He wasn't going to set Europe on fire and he's a really decent human being. I'm
glad that he chose to go this way. Now Cycle-Smart needs to sign him on as an
associate coach.

That is really really good news. Pros who are popular and talented
like TJ can do very well for themselves here in the US, and have a
much better life. I am sure he learned that first hand from Frank and
Mark.

Plus, when you add in Euro cross, you double your income (at Tims
level in cross). he will have ZERO problem getting the good hook up
with contracts and such in Belgium. People love him there.

Nationals next year will be AWESOME. Ahhh, good times....

So why doesn't he race this year? I'd be shocked if he didn't show up
this weekend in Gloucester, for fun and all.

I give Timmy J 2-3 years before he's back on top here and top 10 at
worlds. I think he is as good as Page, but with a bigger engine.

I agree, but more specifically, I think if they both focused on it, it
would come down to course type. I think TJ has "a bigger engine" in a
hill climb, or stage race type event, but that JP has a bigger engine
in a long hard explosive roulleur type event.

They are very different riders. How that translates to cross? Maybe
on a power course, or crazy technical momentum course, JP is gonna be
better, and on a hilly course, TJ is better. Zolder for example.
That was a tough course.

I also think, from wathcing both, that Tim can race the COURSE better,
pick it apart, analyze the sections, turn it more into a mental event
like a time trial.

JP can race the RACE better, that is he responds to the adrenalin of
group racing, and if he is OTB, or even OTF, he is not going to be as
fast as Tim or others. He is the same way in road races. He cant TT
worth a [censored]. its like he is bored.

I think nationals will be wicked exciting with both of them on form,
and it will bounce back and forth for the next couple years between
them based on the courses and race dynamics. more guys at high levels
in nationals will favor JP. If its just the TWO of them, at a higher
level then the others, like the last two years, then advantage Tim.

I think Tim will be back on top of it as soon as next year, why 2-3
years? Not like he hasnt been riding (and getting stronger every
year). Either could be top ten at worlds next year with the right
course.

I cant wait.
