All very nice bikes, but after buying an Italian bike
myself recently I found the biggest drawback is the lack of
LBSs who stock/service Campag gear. We have 26 LBSs in Hull
and I had to go to 5 different shops before anyone could
even take off a Campag cassette, let alone work on a wheel,
but it sounds as if your LBS might be of more use in that
department.

Yeah my LBS are totally fine with Campag stuff and
actually recommend it in this instance. Do you have
particular expeience or knowledge of the Tifosi stuff as I
don't? I must admit that I tend to fall into the category
of those who assume that 'brand name is best' so would
ordinarily assume that Pinarello et al would be superior
but, after today, am maybe a little less convinced that
there's any tangible difference in quality. Are you just
paying for the name?

Another shop recommended Rondelli frames - I had hold of one
and it was superbly crafted -you could hardly see the weld
and the paint job was superb - but again I was somewhat put
off by the lack of 'cred' attached to the name. Thing is I
don't wanna miss a decent bike either - I just don't know
how to differentiate.

A Bianchi Veloce??? AS far as I know there isn't such a
model - see www.bianchi.com - but you can get Bianchi
bikes kitted out with Campag Veloce - I presume that's
what you mean??

I have two Bianchi bikes and I love them. I have a San Remo
(now an old model) kitted out in a Campag Veloce/Mirage mix
and a ML3 fitted out with a Campag Daytona/Veloce mix. I
love both bikes. The San Remo I got second-hand and it's my
everyday bike, set up with mudguards, rear rack etc... I use
it for trips to the shops, day-rides and for touring. It's
the one I'll use for my cycle holiday this summer. My ML3 is
my race bike (me on a race bike is a bit of a cheek really)
and it's a very smooth ride.

I'm very happy with both my bikes.

Had the CK7 (Audax) with Veloce 10sp triple groupset
delivered on Thursday. I've only ridden it for a five miles
(basically home from the shop), but it feels good so far. I
asked the same question a couple of weeks ago before I went
ahead - there was only one other person who'd bought one,
but he seemed pleased enough.

I've bought it as a replacement for an 18 year old steel
531c tourer, so I was expecting a less comfortable, if
faster, ride. So far I've been pleased because it is faster,
but it's just as comfortable as the old bike, although
obviously I'd like to do a few more miles before I'm sure
about that...

I recall reading a magazine review of a bike built around a
tifosi frame and the reviewer was extremely positive about
the end result. I'm sure that the bike was supplied by Cycle
Care in High Wycombe. I only mention this in order to
reinforce the fact that the review stuck in my mind.

The same bike is available in the UK (I was sat on one

I was that person.

Done a shade over 200 miles since I got it and I still like
it. I now have the seat at exactly the right height, but
still have one pedal cleat to sort. Apart from the set up
being not quite right (can't blame the bike for that) I
can't find fault with this bike at all. It does what I want,
does it well and I get good backup from my LBS. Unusually it
seems, my LBS prefers to work with Campagnolo equipped bikes
so backup is particularly good.
