Well, if you're talking ti, one thing they all have in common, each one is
made in the USA! Litespeed and Merlin, both own by the same company, ABG,
are made in Tenn, Douglas, made by Titanium Sports, is made in Washington.
Each has it strength and weakness. Best to find which one FITS YOU the best,
that's more important than frame material. Good Luck!

If it ever stops snowing, raining, freezing etc in Jersey...I am going
to actually take my bike outdoors. When I do this thing, I am going to
figure out if I have a good fit with this bike I own. I bought it in
October and the weather has been like a woman going through
menopause...you never know what you will wake up to and or what she
    will throw at you.

I don't even know what a good fit is on a bike. I imagine if you are
comfortable riding a long distance, you have a good fit. Could I be
correct? I never thought about these things when I was younger. I just
    rode a bike. Anyone's bike.

When we were kids we always switched bikes. I rode my brothers bike. He
is 6 ft 3" tall. I was 5'8" tall. Maybe I have strunk in my older age,
but I was 5'8" back then. ;-) What was my point? Did I have one? Oh
yea, how do you determine if the bike fits you well...or if you fit the
bike? Is this something you just feel? Or is there some scientific
data, mathmatical answer, and technical information regarding this? Is
    it simple or complex.

I am just starting to figure out how to fit on the gym equipment and
feel comfortable, but that was all guesswork and lever pushing. I have
very long legs so things are always a challenge. Like sitting in the
back seat of a sports car. Life is tough!
    Love ya guys

    Maggie,

The question then is what is a good fit. I would check out your local bike
shops and find out if any of them know how to do a fitting. A good fitter
should have something like a serotta cycle machine to measure you for things
like seat and top tube length, stem length and height, etc. The key here is
whether the person doing the fitting is experience to know what would work
for you type of body and riding style, e.g., someone older and doing touring
will probably require a higher bar than a younger person who is into racing
    and wants maximum aerodynamics.

The following are a few sources for reading material on fitting:

    http://www.rivbike.com/html/101_pureopinions.html

    http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/fitting.htm

    Good Luck!

Have you ever completed a single post without a reference to your age,

Let me see.......NO I don't think so....why? Does it annoy you?
    Peace
    Maggie...

PS. Just wanted to add I am 50, going through menopause and trying to
lose weight because I gained it going through menopause. ;-)

PPSS. I also bought a Bike

PPPSSS. I really enjoy this newsgroup....If I annoy you, or you find
me obnoxious, don't read me. It's quite simple really. I'm not going
anywhere...I find this NG quite fascinating...a great variety of people
who have alot of creative humor.

Btw...I am 50, did I tell you that?

  8. dude, relax. who cares if she includes that info. I would bet that an
answer would (or at least could) have a lot to do with someone's
    physical condition. Lay off.

I include that information because I am really a mental patient
spending my days making ashtrays and posting on newsgroups. Life on the
ward gets dull. "Hey lower the rope down from the ship or beam me
    up."
