  1. I just put my new Thule bike rack on the car. It looks very nice, good quality. But, when I went for
a drive it sounded like a tornado above my car. Looking through the catalog I see they offer a
fairing. The fairing clams to reduce wind noise. Anyone know if it works?

    Thanks Monty

  2. Ya, lets make that a BIKE rack, not a bile rack....

  3. Yes it works but it still makes noise. Just not so objectionable as that whistling that the unfaired
    rack does.

  6. if you can - try moving the rack back further square bars or aero?

It works, but the price is high for a piece of plastice and some brackets.

I have a Subaru Impreza TS and when I put the rack on, sans fairing the noise was unbearable.
The fairing is bloody expensive but the noise reduction makes it worth it. There was a large
    difference.

I had a VW Golf that actually made MORE noise with the fairing on. Go figure.

Hi Justin! Do you have a sunroof, and if so, can you bear to ride with it open with the fairing
    installed?

Rick But can you *taste* the difference? ;-)

  12. After 2 years of no fairing I finally got one. Yes - I think there is a huge noise difference
(less). I also have a sun roof and I don't notice anything different with the sun roof opened and
    the fairing on.

  13. The THULE fairing does help about 50%. But it's never gonna be like new. I found a heat-gun on the
edges of the fairing helps. I heat to soften, then gently roll the edges back to smooth airflow.
