  1. Over the ANZAC Day long weekend I did some riding in the Victorian Alps
region. I've written up my experience, which you can have a gork at
    here if ya like;

Great report Jaywoo, makes our short BR on Monday look pretty lame.

I'll use this report and the fact that today i am the lightest I've been
for more than 10 years as inspiration for a PB at Warrandyte this
    weekend. MUST BREAK 16:30!!!

nice one. i love that Falls Creek descent. lots of smooth, open sweepers. Hate the little ups before you get to the MtB golfcourse tho.
Isnt the cyclemax tawonga Gap times up the 'east' side tho?

  4. That's a great read; well done, both on writing it up and actually
    riding it.

  5. 16:30? [censored], that's improvement! Wasn't it just a week or two
ago you were trying to crack 18:00? Well done, Dave, you've obviously
    been working hard.

Not sure which is east. There is both sides listed on cycle2max. I only
bothered timing myself on the side from Mt Beauty to Bright.

Actually current best is 16:50 but will be unhappy with anything over
16:30 this week. But yeah, 18, 19 ad 20 mins wasn't that long ago. I've
been looking back over my times and much as I hate to say it, my times
seem to have mainly improved due to a knee injury stopping me from
running (that should make Dutchy's day). I'm not sure whether it is
because my long run tended to be on Saturday so I was tired on Sunday
morning, or it may be that I've been riding a bit more to make up for
the lack of running. I'll find out more over the coming weeks because
I'm about to start running again (unless my knee completely collapses in
which case I'll take up scrabble).

Well at this time last year I was an out of condition 37 year old.
There's some good riding out there but obviously not if you dislike
hills. Not sure if you've followed the various BR threads on here but
here's some info on a ride a group of us do out that way each (well
    mostly) Sunday morning.
    http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/~dbuerckner/BR.html

We probably pass pretty close to you so if you're interested in joining
any week drop a msg here with some info on where you'll be and we can
keep an eye out for you, we'd hit Warrandyte just before 8am. The best
part of it for you is that if the climb out of Warrandyte is too much
you could always turn around and roll back.

Thanks Dave, give me a few weeks to get my bike legs back and I may well be
tempted to join you for a spin. Think I'd better try that Warrandyte Hill
    first!

Good on you DaveB, you come back to running, and how about a swim?

(although, I think I'm managing the same cycling times with about half as
much cycling training now that I'm not running so much...)
