Seconded, and why pick on Mercedes drivers?

This Mercedes driver is also a cyclist & never, but never sticks two fingers up
    to cyclists :-)

Presumably because she got cut up by one. Hopefully s/he was listening to
her broadcast and will think twice about doing it again.

Why is her comment puerile clap trap?

It sounds as if you object to someone who objects to objectionable
    behaviour by motorists.

Do you like Mercedes drivers cutting you up and then giving you V signs
    through their back windows?

I thought Tony W was objected to Thought for the Day in general because
    it is religious.

For some strange reason, however, my subconscious keeps linking the handle

You could be right but criticising (even indirectly) someone who can draw
attention to anticyclist behaviour on national radio doesn't exactly help
    the cause, does it?

Although one must be careful not to make the situation worse despite the
best intentions. Quite possibly pot calling kettle black here, granted,
but Anne Atkins is IMHO not a person who can be trusted to discharge the
role in such a way as to improve sympathy for cyclists. She's one of
those people that even when I agree with her, I feel that I'd rather
    not. c.f. Anne Widdecombe.

No, just an observation both on here and on the road.
