Dayum, I got about 10 miles, but realized I was becoming st00pid - unable
to make decisions like 'turn here' to avoid riding into car wash. ;-p
Still, did some decent short climbing, against a 25mph wind. %-)

Remained stupified for about an hour after getting home. (May never
recover). Wasn't cold in the body - just too much cold wind on the
face/forehead, or sumpthin'.

OTOH, wearing Pearl Izumis did help me ride with less clothing (light
Performance windbreaker, light v-neck wool sweater, l/s bike jersey), as
one poster suggested. (warmer hands allow less clothing).

You guys want to talk cold I heard on the news or Paul Harvey that
northern Minnesota had -55 degrees F and even that was not a record.
That is stay inside weather no matter how hard core you are. I owned a
house in Minnesota but it only got down to a Measly -35 when I lived
there. My propane heater wouldn't work that day so I had to go to the
backups, oil heater, wood burning stoves, and electric. I think that
having 4 different heating systems should tell you something about the
weather. It was only -20 when I went outside to chat with the propane
guy but it was windy and I almost froze my ear lobes off just standing
there.
I just made myself cold thinking about that.

at 10C. Just an 8 kilometre round trip, but I actually
overheated. With the change in the weather here I
forgot I didn't need to layer as much. The rain cape,
helmet cover and fenders kept me externally dry as a bone,
except my trouser cuffs got a little damp.
