Yech. She can have my share, too.

Its really good if you dont overcook it. If it gets over cooked it gets
mushy and slimy. The thin pencil width ones are great stir fried with
olive oil, garlic that I have pickled in vinegar, a splash of soy and
some sun dried tomatoes chopped up!!! I had a friend who wouldnt eat
asparagus for nothing. I fixed it like that and she loved it. My
daughter eats it dipped in Miracle Whip!\

I love asparagus. The 1st time i had it it was barely steamed and I thought
it tasted live pistachio nuts. My son has always been the biggest fan of
broccoli - I have the funniest pix of him just shoving his mouth full of the
stuff!
Good for Bonnie if she likes her veggies! Makes everyone's life easier!!!
(i'm assuming it's her....)

Yup she is a she 😉 She loves veggies.. she has been known to dig tomatos
out of the fridge and eat 1/2 of it. She also will eat brocoli if I have it
in the fridge.

broccoli has always been my fav veggie but since surgery I can no
longer tolerate the flowerette part. I can eat the stem but not the
bushy part. I think its too much fiber.
My husband loves the broccoli salad I make with celery, small pieces of
broccoli flowerettes, fresh fried and crumbled bacon bits, sunflower
seeds, small cheddar cheese chunks, and "tomato splash" seasoning sold
by Trader Joes and a home made LC cole slaw dressing with splenda,
mayo, white vinegar, and fresh cracked pepper

As a child I loved tomatoes. I would eat them right off the vine, just chomp
it like an apple! Then one day I got wierd about it and thought it looked
kind of larval, not done - gross. So I stopped eating them. Then I didn't
even wants chunks of tomato in the sauce or tomato in soup. Funny food
hangups I guess. My has a thing about corn looking like teeth LOL

I have always disliked tomoatoes until I married my husband and he grew
Early Girl tomatoes! They were so sweet I sliced them and ate them
plain and actually loved them. Then I tried the cherry ones that are
still on the vine in the mesh bag!!!! Again I loved them. SO snappy and
sweet.
As a child my Dad tells me I would not eat peanut butter. Funny PB
turned out to be one of my favorite foods! Right now I will eat any
peanut butter protein bar they make!!!
And while we are talking about food issues:
I truly went through the wicked step-mother thing as a child between
the ages of 12 and 17. From 3 to 12 it was just me and my Dad. Anyway,
my step-mother would lock me out of the house and I would spend the day
in the backyard and sitting and reading at the picnic table just
outside my bedroom window. My step- mother would hand me 2 bologna
sandwiches made frm the cheap 3 loaves for $1 white bread out my
bedroom window. Ya know what? I havent eaten a bologna sandwich since
and I am 42! Funny how certain things turn ya off! She used to bake
that Swanson's and Banquet fried chicken that came in the box to serve
for dinner. I got the wings every time! ;( Even now I dont eat
wings!!! When she was gone and Dad would eat chicken he would invite me
to eat one of the chicken breasts with him as a form of silent
rebellion against her. I recall sitting there happy to have Dad to
myself as she got jealous if he even hugged me, eating chicken and
asking him why he married her and that I disliked her.

My daughter used to want vegetables for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and
snacks! Wasn't crazy about meats, didn't like sweet AT ALL...always has
loved her pasta, rice, potatoes, and breads though. When she was really
little and we were eating with others, and she'd ask for seconds on her
veggies, I'd say, "C'mon have a piece of chocolate cake instead, please???"
and she'd yell, "NO! I want more beans (or whatever)!) and it would crack
people up.
She didn't learn to like chocolate until she got out into the world (church
and school) and saw that other kids thought it was better than vegetables.
Now she's pretty much into carbs in all their forms, will still eat veggies
and salads but prefers carbs over anything...

Anyday is cheese day in my house. My daughter loves the green packaged
Orowheat bread( I think it's called oatnut) with cheddar and ham,
outside pieces lightly buttered, grilled to golden brown (wont eat it

mustard and mayo mixed together dip! <rolling my eyes> and I accomodate

That sounded terrible! Thank goodness you had the strength of character not
to pass that on to your children. Even if they do like gross food : )

I certainly grew up with issues and had some really terrible things
happen to me....... ya know like being abandoned by your mother at age
three and the list goes on. I certainly could have played the victim
all my life. My mothers inabiltiy to love and care for me took its toll
on me in my early years. But the way she treated me taught how *NOT* to
be as a mother myself in the later years. You remember what you
remember as there is no way of stopping that. You can chose to let
certain things destroy you or make you a better person like mold your
life thus not allowing history to repeat itself. So................I'm
just the person who doesnt serve bologna in their house ROFLPMP!!!!!

As a kid growing up my mom only fed me the veggies she
liked, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, corn,
of course I ate it and loved it, now I eat a lot higher on
the hog so to speak, I love asparagus, broccoli,
cauliflour, boc, choi, kale, you name it I love it always did
just never was exposed to it.
I try to expose my children to all foods and if they dont
like them it is their choosing.
If you are what you eat then I am fast, cheap and easy.

We told my daughter that the little van that went down the street
sounding like a music box was "The Music Truck" -- it started out as a
joke, but she didn't "get it".
The look on her face when she learned otherwise was priceless.
Now see, I grew up with warm bologna memories... make that *fried* bologna
memories. Better than a grilled cheese in my book.
