back, about 1 mile from home so I didn't have too far to walk considering at
the furthest point I was 7 miles out. Not a hard jump, just poor
positioning going over a sharp piece of granite encased in the ground.

Excellent idea.

Several times I've fixed nail flats on cars without pulling the wheel using
a simple plug kit and a small compressor. Diagonal wire cutters seem to
work well for extracting nails.

Yeah, no qr on the back is pretty standard. But one thing on my wife's
Inbred I thought was weird (and I didn't even notice until we got it
home) is no qr on the front either. I don't get that. Anyone know why
they do that?

Yeah... if any of you have even begun to browse the disc brake threads on
r.b.t, you'll know what I'm talking about 😉 Basically, if it has discs,
some people claim that the disc brake will eject the wheel because the
dropout slots are in the direction that the disc pushes the wheel upon
application of the brake.

The Inbred has both v and disc mounts, doesn't it though?

some people claim that the disc brake will eject the wheel because the
dropout slots are in the direction that the disc pushes the wheel upon
application of the brake.

Well, I, for one, would feel more comfortable with a thru-axle or
dropouts that face forward. I'm very careful with my front QR these days.

My WORD hub has 6mm allen bolts holding it in place. A QR will work on
a SS with vertical dropouts, but I would probably leave it out on
anything horizontal because of slippage issues. I wish Paul made a
bolt-on WORD front hub with a disc rotor mount. I'd run an 8" rotor up
front and rim brakes rear. Surly makes one, but it's a majorly heavy
beast for a SS hub. It would make for easy nose wheelies and a stiff
front end that would be unparalleled with a standard rigid fork.
