That sucks - that happened where I live too, but we rebuilt in a really
secluded area not really far from the city so much as isolated from it.

We've had shockingly good luck with just calling up our local parks guy
to get permission to build things in our local spot. It's no air park
or anything but they gave us a key to the gate and said we could haul in
dirt as long as we followed some easy rules.

If you find the right approach you can get a lot of slack. For us, we
make our little city bike park maintenace free (read: easier on the
budget) for the city so they are very accomidating.

Im guessing this is the case, we built some northshores at another
location a few months ago. Some dumbass kid fell off and broke his arm,
he complained to his mummy and then the [censored] complained to the council
who in turn tore down our shore. I presume something along the same
lines happened here.

Get in touch with your local *orba or check IMBAs website. Also ask a
local skate park or BMX track or anyone else who may have already paid a
lawyer to find out. Maybe you don't even worry about it unless they
bring it up, cities should have some idea of their legal risks, people
get hurt on playgrounds, ballfields, and other public land all the time.

are a lot more meaningful. Gather up your most presentable friends, a
few parents and, what may really help in your situation, a cop, and go
talk to someone.

So, let me get this straight. You built a load of doubles on public land
with no permission and are then surprised when they get torn down? Way of
the world, my friend. You need to get this things sorted with the council
before, or at least during the time you're building them. Build them on
private land or public land with permission and you'll have no problems
(well, almost none). I sympathise with you - as someone who's
been there before, I know how it feels. However, radically altering the
landscape without permission and then having it altered back, well, what
else did you expect?

You need to speak to the council (they're generally receptive) or sort
something out on private land.
