What an amazing rider Jan Ulrich is to do as well as he did with such an anemic team organization
and the lack of leadership therein.

Though I am rooting for Lance to win a 6th tour, he will have his hands full if Beloki or Ulrich
decide to hook up with a sponsor as disciplined as the postal organization is. But then again, who
has so far besides Tyler Hamilton? I say that because I was really impressed with CSC.

How does LANCE know? I suspect more that Ullrich got the word but crashed because he was
taking chances.

Don't you think it's a bit silly to blame team staff for all this ? Jan is stubborn and does his
thing. Goodefroot (a "[censored]" according to some esteemed readers here), couldn't have it anymore,
Pevenage takes it all. I'm as glad as anyone else Jan is showing his incredible power again, but he
just doesn't have the head to be an all-time great.

In the crucial Pyrenees stage it was agreed he wouldn't try to attack on the Tourmalet. Well he
changed his mind and was just waisting energy with Lance in his wheel. We can only guess how that
cost him on Luz-Ardiden.

And in previous stages, when Vino attacked JU started to make pace with Lance in his wheel. Lance
was the better bluffer, and JU let the weight of the race be put on his shoulders. That was crucial
in this Tour.

That final all important TT: he didnt even check the course for himself! Apparently because he
disliked the weather. A [censored] like Goodefroot would have made an argument over that I think.... It's
not just the crash... with his 56 Jan was slightly overgeared it seemed.

Jan might win some Tours in the future with his incredible abilities. But face his shortcomings
instead of pointing at others, pleaze.

When you're riding at 15mph, there is definately energy saved drafting uphill. As far as the rest of
the post goes, I agree with Bart. Ullrich made 3 (if not 4 or 5) crucial tactical mistakes which
cost him the tour.
