  1. is anyone getting annoyed about all the theft of bikes, or parts. have you seen the lockers at
supermartkets and other places where you put the bike in a mini shed thing, put a quid in and get a
key, when you come back you open it up and get your pound back. We need these at the uni, if people
could drum up support and suggest how we could get the uni to install these it would be much
    appreciated! thank you

Do you have any links to what these mini sheds look like? Sounds like a good idea at train stations
and such. What's a uni BTW?

Can't say I am. I use an old commuter bike for riding round town. No-one wants to nick it or stuff
off it. My mountain bikes are reserved for mountain biking.

Gather crime statistics regarding bike theft around the uni and put forward a proposal that includes
them. Then add in the positive benefits of encouraging more people to bike to uni. I'd concentrate
on parking as this is usually a major issue. Try to work in some cost-benefit analyses that back up
your proposal. Bear in mind that lockers take up a lot of room and are relatively expensive, so you
may have your work cut out. Perhaps a 50p charge per locker? But then you're dealing with pikey
    students...

    50p! That's half a pint! It won't work. It won't work.

Wow, some of those are really neat. The only thing missing is a shower 😉 We could use a bunch of
these around my town. I'd rather pay for those than a parking meter.

HI, i agree with the idea of at least trying to encourage the uni to setup up some of these bike
locker as i myself am a victim of theft at the uni, i "had" a 1 week old Orange MSisle in loverly
Bright orange stolen from near Claremont tower.Even with a £50 lock people are gonna take them if
they want them bad enough. i don't feel that [censored] should be allowed to stop me (or any 1 else)
    from doing what we love....riding!

people please try and get as many people you can to support this idea,

    mike

  7. Its a shame that people steal, bike gear is expensive. A good idea to say the least!

Ive just thought of an idea for a website, Im gonna post in another msg to see what people think.

    Cheers, Tom

  8. Me too. It happened twice to me. My idea is that shopping malls should have some special places whit
security guys watching them all the time. You bring your bike, they give you a number and you heve
    piece of mind. jazu
