Put the Dahon to good use yesterday, combining it with public
transport. But when I got off and assembled the bike, I found
both tyres badly needed pumping.
OK, get the pump out ....
... and find the d*** thing has got those huge fat
(schrader?) valves. Can't use the pump:-(
And I had an appointment to keep.
Look at time. Time of appointment. Map.
Panic ....
Ride slowly on virtually flat tyres.
Panic some more. Concentrate on not falling off, as handling is
quite alarming. Concentrate on not hurting the rims ...
Miss bloody appointment after going past it without realising:-(
Eventually find a petrol station with air pump, and after
reading the battered smallprint find it prepared to help
when fed a 20p coin. Aaah, much better!
Aaargh!
