This javawizard is pumping domain names he has for auction. Somebody ran
across the odd-bikes one and linked to the ebay auction, but I can't
seem to locate that post now.

Has anyone bought and tried any of the UDC/MDC ultimate wheels?
If yes what size did you buy and how long did it take you to learn to
ride? What can you do on it and how far can you go? I am thinking of
getting one but I don't know what size to go for. I want to ride around
on the UW to forcibly improve my SIF skills but I also think that it
will be a great conversation peice. I can only ride about 200 meters
SIF befor getting totally tired and wipping the seat back in. It seams
that I get tired much more quickly riding SIF than hopping up stairs
SIF. Does anyone else have this experience?

*1) *I have a UW that i bought from UDC Oz.
*2) *It is a 28" and took me at least 1 1/2 months to ride. But
everyone is different depending on their centre of gravity.
*3) *Alot of bunny hops and idling and the occasional drop or 2. :

one. 😄

Thanks for answering. Wow that big! I was thinking of the 20 or maybe
24 inch ones. One of my goals with the UW is to force myself to improve
my SIF stamina and skills for Trials and thechnical MUni riding. Did
you find that you improved yours with mastry of the UW?

Because of the way the UW rubs on your legs, the larger wheels are
actually easier to ride (exception is the Coker UW).

I think a 24 is a good size for all around. The 20 is a bit harder to
ride. My 26 is an old style with plywood insert for the pedals, it is
very heavy.

I can ride fig. 8's, hop, and done 15cm drops.

I haven't found any cross over to SIF or Trials skills, but it is a
work out so it can't hurt your stamina.

It is like a unicycle, but has no seat or frame - just a wheel and
pedals. Oddly, it is not hard to learn. I let a friend who had no
unicycling experience try one, and he was able to go about 60 feet (20
meters) after about 15 minutes of practice, although usually it takes
several trials over a couple of weeks to get a bit of mastery. People
have been known to juggle and play music while riding ultimate wheels.
