It took some doing, but we finally got that 11 pound turkey stuffed
into the rotisserie that is supposed to be able to cook a 15 pound
bird. [In your dreams!. Only if you were to cut the 15 pounder into
quarters, tie it all together, and then put it on the spit.] So we
now know that a 10-11 pound bird is the maximum for this appliance
(the Showtime Platinum). That's a good size for two people.
It's been a little over an hour, and the bird is browning nicely.
Hopefully, it won't over-brown during the next hour and a half.
Warning: There will be pictures.
The rest of the menu is turning out to be mashed potatoes, gravy,
popovers, and green beans. We're saving the corn for turkey cottage
pie tomorrow.
Crash, bless his soul, decided to forego baking the pie(s) until
tomorrow. We're both pretty run down today.
The best gift of all, a phone call with my daughter. It seems she
loves me. <SMILE>
