1. Yes, there were some negatives here and there with OLN's coverage (most notably for me - the "Cutters"😉, but overall I thought it was outstanding. Therefore, I wanted to start a positive thread saying "THANK YOU" to OLN, their on-air talent (most of them) and technical crew for excellent coverage during the 2004 Tour de France!

THANK YOU OLN - A JOB WELL DONE!

🙂

2. Thanks for offering so many times that I could watch in case I misse the stage in the morning (every weekday for work ....)

However ..............

BOOOOOOO TO AL TROUTHEAD - GET HIM OFF THE TOUR COVERAGE FROM NOW ON!!!

3. [ It was great to have several chances to see each day's stage.

The coverage was fantastic - on a par with what I remember of Eurosport's coverage of the Tour, but with many more times to view each day. Now, can we convince OLN to provide daily, albeit reduced, coverage of the Giro and maybe the Vuelta???

OLN does cover the Giro just fine.

THANK YOU OLN.

Someone should somehow get them this thread if it becomes lengthy and meaningful.

Overall an outstanding job!! The multiple coverage times were super. A couple things I found myself wishing for :

1. An indication of the gradient onscreen, real -time
2. a real-time speed display onscreen
3. sedatives for Bob Roll (or weighted gloves)

Does OLN cover other races? We added to our sat package just to get OLN so we could watch the race. If there's more, we'll keep it!

Thanks again OLN!

Thanks OLN!
next time you can leave out al trouthead!

10. Thanks, OLN. Now what do you prescribe for a Tour hangover. I think I'm having withdrawals. 😄

11. Thank you OLN!!
- a real-time speed and gradient monitor would be great
- the HRM (on O'grady?) was interesting too
- tastefully done, brief bio's on the announcers could be a nice touch too...lot's of folks were put off by Bob Roll's antics (he is a bit grating to me, but I think he has great insights). Perhaps understanding his pedigree would lend to more cred.

on the negative side:
- the crazed cyclism guy ranting and raving like a luney tune didn't add much
- was it just me or did that nike add of lance riding through the countryside get O L D (sure seemed like the commercials were way too repetitive

OLN...The only reason I have cable or a television for that matter!

13. count me in on the OLN bandwagon! I did watch the races that they were showing earlier in the season and I thought it was GREAT! to be able to see the races that I had heard so much about for so long.

Maybe with the success (hopefully, I heard ad sales were a bit off) of this years tour, you all could cover one race a week either in North America and/or in Europe and /or Down Under. The hunting and fishing shows cant be getting such overwelming viewership that you al could afford one hour a week.

PS Bob Roll Rocks

14. I loved the coverage, and the primetime extras were great. Al kind of grew on me, at first I didn't like him. I hope they have the same crew for next year. Did you see where OLN said they had 80 trucks to move from stage to stage just to broadcast it...omfg...80 trucks!!!

GREAT JOB OLN!!! THANKS FOR THE COVERAGE!

ps - now what do I watch on tv that the tour is over?

15. Okay, I poked a bit of good-natured fun at OLN's "Cyclysm" campaign. But I'd like to add my most sincere thanks to OLN. It's the first time that I was able to watch daily coverage of the TdF on television. I really enjoyed it! Great job OLN! Thank you!

16. Felicitacions OLN. A l'annee prochaine.

Better than all the other coverage in North Amer... errrr, it was good and welcome anyway.

For next year:
1. An indication of the gradient and speed onscreen.
3. Bob Roll - He is the best thing for ratings. Despite me finding him to be an utterly intolerable moron and complete buffoon I suspect this resounding completion is also the reason he is on screen in the first place. The show was built for a North American audience so they picked a clown who knows about pro cycling but can also entertain the morons (whilst being himself). Sadly more coach potatoes, channel hoppers and otherwise part time viewers will watch Bob than a well balanced individual on screen. So, the more viewers, the better the ratings, the more advertsing, the more cycling programs the more, the more etc... The cycling posse in North America are obvioulsy going to watch the coverage, Bob or no Bob, like him or not. I may be wrong but I suspect OLN is hoping Bob is the bait for the general wider appreciation of cycling.

I chose to leave the EU for the US in the first place and Bob is the least of my worries here, so I'll shut now ...😎

Encore felicitacions et BON COURAGE!

I enjoyed the OLN coverage of the tour very much. I look foward to the same fine job in the next tour. The web site that OLN sponsors was awsome!

18. Awesome job, the multiple showtimes were what really made it great for me.

Looking forward to next year!

19. BRAVO! WELL DONE!

Thank you OLN for putting on great coverage! While there is always room to improve (i.e. ridding the network of Trautwig!!!!), all of your efforts are appreciated!

20. Now tell me this isn't a cool picture! 🙂 From Stage 16's coverage...
