Gee Douglass, you must have a HUGE ass if you can fit a rolling pin up
there. -

I would like to hear opinion from users.I like it a lot and use it before most runs on hams, quads, and
calves. It gives me a headstart on warming up those muscles. Its
flexibility makes it, IMO, considerably better than a rolling pin if
you can spare the thirty bucks or so - and the lightness makes it more
convenient to tote around if that's a concern. There's a few newer similar products on the market too - something
called Tiger Tail (http://www.zombierunner.com/store/product851.html)
and another one I ran across a few weeks ago but can't remember where,
which looked like it had more aggressive rollers than The Stick. -

reviews
at several web sites for both running and bicycle community.
It is not a huge investment. Thank you. -

http://www.mindfulness.com/mindful_running/articles/of_article5.phpThis is another way of rolling out the quads or the IT band.
The difference with the PVC or the rolling pin is that you lay on it,
like these people are using the edge of the curb to roll their quad/ITB.The idea is that most of the weight is on the hands and the leg that
isn't on the curb. Gradually you can put more weight on the quad/ITB
with the idea of letting the muscle relax. also you're working on
loosening the fascia around the quad.In health and on the run,

I also heartily endorse Ozzy's bodyweight rolling. I use PVC but most
these days (myself included) started with a foam roller (usually as a
weapon against ITBS), which is plenty painful enough for novices. This and The Stick are, to my way of thinking and acting,
complementary. Rolling on a PVC pipe gets pretty deep and intense,
kind of like an affair with a stormy and unbalanced redhead when
you're in the wake of a long term relationship breakup yourself.
Think deep tissue massage. The Stick has no chance of getting this
deep - you could get a pretty good upper body workout attempting to
elicit lower body pain with it, is quicker, and can access hams and
calves and shins and whatever, not just quads & ITB. You might end up
using it daily and doing bodyweight rolling periodically or as needed. -

Oh trust me, I got laid by it many, many times.
