Soppy bit out of the way, it's our one year wedding anniversary today.
Yeah, we made it :-D
Now to the fun stuff. Dropped Suzie off at EFM in Burwood where she
scored a lift to the Olympic Dream fun run in the city. I then picked
up a work mate (Paul) and headed in to the city to do some serious
shopping!
Met Vlad at Retro, dragged him along 'cause I know nada about mountain
bikes and he knows lot and is a good chum of Rob at BSC. Started off
getting Paul sorted out who's going to start riding to work from Chelsea
to Burwood up some trails. His starting budget for the bike was 1200.
Not quite sure how he walked out the store with a Cannondale Bad Boy...
Then Suzie rocked along to the party to talk roadie stuff. Not too
clear what Suzie's ending up with but it'll be one of the Caonondale
women specific bikes, probably a R700 or 1000.
Then it was my turn. I'd set myself a 3K budget and want to do enduro,
Rob went straight to a blinged up Rocky Mountain ETSX-50. Don't ask me
what the bling components are, it's all a foreign language to me. I do
know it's 9 speed SRAM and the front fork retails at close to 1K. Took
it for s spin around the block and I was sold! Flung it around corners
and it just...cornered. Damn thing's b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. Can't wait
till it's MINE and I take it for a real workout.
Still sketchy on the details, got to do the whole getting it fitted
thing etc and can't wait.
OK, it's not kids. I'd argue they'll be a heap more fun than kids :-D
Celebrated first year of marriage with slap up feed at Windows on the
Bay then went to watch brother-in-law and his wife open wedding
pressies.
Life doesn't get much better than this :-)
