Bloody tradies with their speakers blaring out MMM [censored], when they are
working on the opposite end of the block of land.

I used to listen to it, because their music tastes used to match with
mine a lot better than JJJ, but the ratio of ads to music even then
was about 1:0.9

Thanks muchly, just listened to them. I'm more annoyed by the arguements of the cyclists than Spoonies ill informed comments.

Spoonie frequently infers that rego pays for roads. Not one person corrected him of this; not one person informed him that motorists are subsidised by general taxation and that the taxation gathered from running a car doesn't even come close to paying for the costs inflicted on society by cars.

A couple tried the `I've got a car and pay rego' trick. So what? That's irrelevent, as Spoonie correctly says he can have two cars but they'd both still need rego.

I've just tried a different tack on a colleague. Cars are lethal weapons, they kill hundereds and maim thousands every year; therefore each car is registered in the same manner as a firearm is registered. Cyclists do not kill and maim so there is no requirement for registration.

No one picked up Spoonie on his complaints about continually overtaking the same cyclist; I mean he got past the cars in front of him as well right? The fact that he can overtake cyclists time and time again proves that cyclists don't delay him.

And one I would have put to him, why stop at cyclists? Why not pedestrians? In cities they can be a big hazard. I've lost count of the number of pedestrians who have nearly skittled me by walking out from between vehicles without looking etc.

Oh and one last thing: ``the dangers of cycling are self evident, witness the introduction of mandatory helmet laws'' or words to that effect. Grrrrrr. And no, that is not a helmet thread troll, that's been done to death relatively recently.

Correct, I've had two serious incidents where a 'tradie' was involved, and both times they were great chaps to deal with. And one was a roadie.

In regards to Spoonies antics - being possibly offended is the least of my worries. It's more a case of 'know your enemy'.
