always seem to forget at some point along my rides to turn the computer back on after getting caught at a light. was just going for ten miles to focus on the pedal moreso than anything else as all this talk of pedaling technique has piqued my interest but 9.1 miles is all i came away with according to the computer after i was rolling for some time ( i'm guessin' 9/10ths of a mile) with it off and i turned around at 5 miles exactly.
on the hoods for 1 mile on the way out then dropped into the drops and stayed there the rest of the ride, 53 x 13 the entire short time.
pedal felt good seeing as how i haven't ridden in over three months. focused a lot on the pulling up which saved me on the return in the severe headwind. tried focusing on technique but it seemed to come naturally after just a few rotations, pushing over the top from 11, 12 and scraping the mud off on the bottom 5,6 possibly even into 7. smoooth sailing for the most part and for the return trip, stayed out of the saddle for the entire time while circular pedaling as best i could but jerky here and there as i was out of the saddle and thought to myself, "can't wait to build me up a training bike with pc's and end this nonsense."
cadence on the way out while out of nowhere and cruising for a few miles was at 71, probably a bit higher than that as i didn't even realize i was at 29 mph while checking the pc. thought to myself, 'this path sh!t sucks" and hit the gas to over thirty and hopped down the curb onto the road and into traffic and stayed in traffic at around thirty for maybe a mile, just before turning around for my return five miles. i enjoy the hell out of racing vehicles, i gotta say.
headwind sucked but stayed out of the saddle for the return but not moving more than 19, more along the lines of 17 average and out of the saddle and focusing on the pedal and trying to remain smooth as best i could and never switched out of 13.
ending average, 15.4 at 9.1 miles and in The Mightier Than All Sir WB's Haro Bikes/ New Belgium Ale jersey.
good times, feels good to be back on the bike even for just ten miles. eh. now for a run.
