  1. Well, I finally got my ride the way I think like it. I am new to the MB thing, but I used to be a
pretty good BMX racer. I'll give you the specs, and then let you take a look, and some of you who
really know what you are doing can offer suggestions for improvement.

Santa Cruz Chameleon Frame (hardtail feels a lot more like the BMX cruiser I rode for years) WTB
Greasguard Headset XTR Bottom Bracket Bontrager Race Cranks XTR Brakes and levers XT Cassette XTR
rear derailluer XT front derailluer XT Shifters Sun Rhyno Lite rims Ringle Super Duper Bubba hubs
Marzocchi Z1 Bomber QR20 fork Big Fat 2.5 inch tires Ringle platform pedals with meat grinder pins
    (yeah the BMX thing again)

check her out and let me know what you think

    some dirt!

Dave (still a very nice ride!)

I think for a noob you're doing alright. Nice set up. Now what's that thing sticking up from
    your headset?

A spider I met had one too, IIRC.

    Paladin

  4. Nice ride .But the blue stem is kind of loud with the black and xtr gray. But I like .Looks like a
Chris King hub in the back. Now go get it dirty.

Dang, I wish I hit it that good he first time. Nice bike!

Mike - I guess polished aluminium is in. 8^)

  7. Nice hardtail.

    Fire up MTB 03

  8. The Blue stem does suck, I bought that a couple of years ago when my local Schwinn shop was going
out of business, and it had been sitting around since then, when I bought this bike (second hand) it
was set up as a downhill or a freeride, with a singlespeed front crankset and chainring, a Judy DHO
dual crown fork, and a crazy ass looking downhill stem, that was about 3 lbs, Obviously I changed
the crankset, added a front derailluer and shifter, changed to more of a freeride/XC fork, and
pulled this goofey ass stem out of the closet. I think I am going to have my LBS order me a
THompson, but first I want to know exactly what I want, and that will only come with miles on the
trail. so the GAS *goofey ass stem* will stay awhile longer. Oh and no that isn't a Chris King hub,
it is a Ringle Super Duper Bubba, kinda a King lookalike, I had two, but had to put a QR20 on the
front. Thanks for the input, and for the interesting opinion John 😉

That's a reeeally long stem. Especially considering your bmx background. Otherwise it looks
    really sweet.

I've been faking it in alt.bmx for a while. ;^) Bikes are bikes I guess. I was thinking about
getting into 20in bikes but didn't really have the spare cash.

I've been faking it in alt.bmx for a while. ;^)

It's a particular struggle to fit in there. You just need to work on spelling more of your words
incorrectly, randomly arranging the order of your words, not quoting properly and putting your
replies in the wrong thread. Then have a big rant about something non-sensical and link it to bmx in
the most tenuous way possible. Post the message five times.

I noticed that as well. Makes it difficult just to lurk...

Cuz you know, if I were single, I would've jumped all over that slick come-on. I mean, I haven't
heard a line that smooth since, oh, let me think ... 8th grade or so?

never seen it used successfully, though.)

Ya gotta play the odds, figure on throwing that line out about 500 times, and the laws of averages
say you are gonna get one taker. I don't know if the other 499 kicks to the groin are going to make
it worth it, but you could at least say "it worked"
