Anyone who says otherwise, I suggest they do some thorough research and come back to me with 1 good reason as to why anyone else is better than this guy. -

In terms of results, it has to Eddy. He won everything. A lot.
I would have liked to see the results of the 'lost generation' who had to deal with WWII, people like Bartali, Coppi, Koblet, Robic, etc if they did not all have a five year hiatus in their careers.
Think of Coppi's hour record in 1941 (IIRC) which was interrupted at least once due to an air raid alert. Not exactly great for concentration...

I gotta agree on The Cannibal.
Armstrong is an obvious contender but world champs and a classic or two aside he really only did the same thing over and over - 7 times.
Of the two I think Armstrong is the better "package" - the perfect combination of genetics, upbringing, training, equipment etc but Eddie's "I'm going to [censored] win EVERYTHING" mindset makes him the better athlete as the results show - he is the wingingest (to use a an awful cliche) athlete of all times. The results prove it.
