  1. Something smells funny and it isn't my gloves.

Two of the racer types invited me out to dinner tonight.

    After a 40 kilometer ride.

Without telling me they were taking me to dinner 10 mostly uphill
    kilometers away.

While yesterday, in two theoretically unrelated incidents, the manager
of the one bike shop was "helping out with the headwind" by teaching me
how to ride two inches behind his rear wheel and the manager of the
other bike shop challenged me to a "how fast can you go?" sprint.

If I admit that I'm not particularly stiff or sore will you promise not
    to tell them?

  4. No conspiracy afoot... you've been promoted to the "A" team. Enjoy the
    company.

I enjoy the company. But I don't want to turn into one of those
spandex wearing freaks who spends three hours a day on her road bike.
Wait a minute, I already _have_ turned into one of those spandex
    wearing freaks. Waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.....

What do you call it when you get to the point where dreary cold rainy
afternoons have become a good excuse to go hang out at the bike shop?
Or when you leave your friends at the one bike shop for the express
purpose of going to hang out with your friends at the _other_ bike
    shop?

Being on the road to having a boring life?

I'm _still_ on term break (will it never end?). Most of my few foreign
friends are either out of town or out of the country. Two of the four
foreign friends that are in town are bike people. My local Chinese
friends who aren't bike people are heavily skewed towards students who
are also on term break and also out of town.
