All nine riders of Discovery there at the base of the Courcheve, ouch. Wonder how many of them will make it to the finish?
Popo crashed on the descent, anyone get to see how bad that was and why?
Who is going to attack Armstrong, my bets on Vino going for it again but Basso might have a go to.

Popo had a flat on the descent but is fine.
Still 15K to go, but so far this stage seems to be developing according to the Discovery/Postal mantra: keep the pace high, and allow the wheat to separate from the chaff. I wonder whether anyone has the legs for a real attack . . .

Give it up for Popo; he crashed on the previous descent, yet is the only one left with Armstrong now . . .
Kloden is the big surprise of the Tour so far . . . after his lackluster spring I didn't expect him to hang with the big dogs so late on this kind of stage after attempting a win just a few days ago. Kudos to him.
Yep, looks like Armstrong has used his whole team to burn of as many riders as possible, everyone gone but Popovych.
11 km Popovych accelerates!! Armstrong says slow down!! But the group has been split!! ULLRICH DROPPED!!! HE CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THE PACE!!Quoted post said:

Once again it is Basso who challenges Armstrong, everyone else seems to be dying.
Basso looks like he is hurting.
Basso is gone.
Valverde having a hell of a debut Tour as well, though. He's going to be a force in years to come.
Rasmussen in only his second year looks real good.
Valverde's looking like the only force this year. Rasmussen showing himself as not just a polka dot man but perhaps a man for the yellow.
Valverde's got Mancebo to help him.
Well, based on the performance on this stage it looks like we are in for the usual tour. 🙁 I just wish it could be more exciting for the other stages, but this time it would appear, again, that there is simply no one there who can challenge Armstrong in the mountains and the TTs. Oh well.

Why cant all you appreciate the incredible racer LA is??? Nobody is more prepared, more focused or more driven than LA to succeed! Give him some credit!
Sorry, it was not my intention to belittle Armstrong. It would be silly! Everyone on this forum, whether they are a fan or not, will readily admit that he is one of the greats!
It is just that it looks like we can all switch off the tv, as we know exactly how each mountain stage will go, barring accidents or sudden mishaps for Lance. Discovery pulls the group 3/4 up, Lance sprints and drops more or less everyone else. Finito. Grazie e arrivederci. 🙁
But deep down I have hope. My man Ivan Basso will kick ass tomorrow and put 3 minutes into Lance... 😉

We also have to give credit - LA was an attacking demon today. His team did a lot, but you can't say he cruised up at the end.

Mtventoux: As I have said, I want LA to win his 7th, but I was hoping for some lingering suspense this year. I certainly "give Lance credit"; I love watching him race, and I appreciate the man's heart and determination and guile, but for selfish reasons, I enjoy watching a close race nonetheless. It makes his success that much more satisfying to witness.
