The more I think about it, the more I realize that his has been the most enjoyable Tour I have ever followed. The racing has been great. The doping controversy has added drama. Riders have bad mouthed other riders. The fans have fallen over themselves to accuse the rivals of riders they support of doping. The press got to play up the death of cycling even as record numbers of fans line the roads. It really does not get better than this.

Dude, soap operas don't have happy endings. They go on and on and on......... -
this is only a 3 week soap opera and like all good soapies you need good guys (cadel evan) and bad guys (vino and chicken).
you need unexpected drama with positive drug tests and riders being sacked.
you need great performances from the riders in the mountains.
and you need the yellow jersey to be decided on the last day in the time trial.what more could you ask for??

I was going to make this very point myself. The amount of fans out supporting the tour, the cyclists, their country and their community has been amazing... -
As fans most people are just out to see good racing. We all know that doping has been, is and most probably will continue to be a problem. As in the Giro, the TdF is not suffering in terms of fans.
The TdF and the Giro will not die over the current scandals. It is useful in that it is ensuring that cycling is always in the evening news, and any publicity is good publicity in today's world...

I still want to see a Brarne Riis lead sit down protest and Albert Condator Discovery doping bust.
Most Tours are exciting. The Armstrong 'drug free era' was very boring.
1998 Festina doping Tour was great.
2006 Roid Landis Tour was great.
2007 cow blood Tour was terrific too.
I told you people that doping was inextricably linked to all Grand Tour discussions. Always has, always will be.
Doping disclosures increase the drama too.
Cadel or Levi may still win if ASO keeps DQing people.
